French oil and gas major Total has announced the start-up of the Edradour & Glenlivet gas and condensate fields in the West of Shetland region, offshore UK.
Edradour & Glenlivet are located in proximity to the Laggan-Tormore fields, which came online earlier this year (in February), and these latest fields are expected to deliver capacity for up to 56,000 barrels oil equivalent per day.
Arnaud Breuillac, president for exploration and production, said: “The start-up of the Edradour & Glenlivet fields demonstrates Total’s ability to deliver projects, taking advantage of favourable market conditions and simplifying designs to optimise execution.
“We have completed this project ahead of schedule and 30% under the initial budget.”
The two new fields together comprise three wells, tied sub-sea to the Laggan-Tormore production system, and they subsequently feed back to the UK mainland.
Total owns 60% of the fields, while partners Dong E&P UK and SSE E&P UK each hold 20%.
