Maersk’s decommissioning company to bring jobs

Maersk confirmed the new company solely focussed on Decommissioning will have its headquarters in Denmark with a significant amount of work based out of Aberdeen.
The firm estimates decommissioning projects worth up to up to £39.4 billion are up for grabs in the North Sea until 2026, with more than 400 fields to cease production.

The 50-50 joint venture between Maersk Drilling and Maersk Supply Service is aiming for a 10% stake in the market.
The new firm, which is yet to be named, will offer bundled solutions for 80% of the processes required in oilfield decommissioning.
